Big bulbs flower faster and bigger. These large-grade amaryllis are 28/30 cm around, which means more stored energy, thicker stems and four to six heavy trumpets per stem — and a shorter wait from planting to the first open flower.
Why grow Large Amaryllis Bulbs
If you have ever planted a small amaryllis and been disappointed by a single spindly stem, the problem was the bulb, not your care. Larger bulbs simply have more reserves to spend on flowers. This grade is the sweet spot between price and performance for a windowsill display.
How to plant and care for it
Set the bulb in a pot that leaves 2 cm of space around it and a third of the bulb above the surface. Water once, then leave until growth appears. Bright light and warmth speed things up; a cool, dim corner slows them down and stretches the stem. Stake if it leans. After the flowers fade, keep the leaves green and fed for as long as possible.
