Yellow cannas
Yellow cannas are the brightest thing in a late-summer border. In full sun the colour is almost luminous, which makes them useful for lifting a dark corner — and risky next to anything pastel.
Several yellow varieties carry red or maroon speckles through the flower, so a single clump reads as two colours from a distance. Pair with blue or purple flowers for contrast, or with white for a clean, formal look.

Growing notes
Plant after the last frost, 4–6 inches deep, growing points up. Cannas want heat and water: a deep soak twice a week in summer, and a compost mulch to hold moisture. Feed every three weeks until flowering starts, then stop.
In zones 8–11 they overwinter in the ground under mulch. In colder zones lift the rhizomes after the first frost and store them at 45–55°F.
Shipping and guarantee
Orders ship within 1–2 business days. If a rhizome arrives soft, mouldy or broken, send us a photo within 30 days and we replace it — no return shipping required.
Frequently asked questions
How tall do cannas grow?
Most varieties reach 3–5 feet; dwarf types stay at 2–3 feet and suit large pots.
Do cannas come back every year?
In zones 8–11, yes. In colder zones lift and store the rhizomes over winter.
Do cannas need full sun?
Yes — at least six hours. They flower poorly in shade.
