Yellow dahlias light up the back of a border and keep flowering until the frost. This collection covers golden yellow, clear lemon, soft buttercream and a smart bicolour with white-tipped petals.
The mix of ball, pompon and decorative types gives you 4–6 inch blooms on 30–36 inch plants. Yellow is one of the most useful colours for cutting because it lifts every bouquet, and the bicolour varieties add definition. Choose your shade above, then pick 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 tubers — larger packs cost less per tuber.
Plant 4–6 inches deep and 12–18 inches apart in full sun after the last frost. Water in well, then water deeply once or twice a week. Hardy in zones 8–10; lift and store the tubers in colder zones after the first frost.
