Most desert roses sold online are the same pink. This is the one collectors ask for: unusually saturated flower colour, often with a lighter throat and a darker picotee edge, on a caudex that is already showing shape rather than a uniform cylinder.
Why grow Desert Rose
Colour is the whole point of growing adenium from seed — every seedling is genetically different, which is why named flower forms command a premium. This selection comes from a named flower form, so what you see is what the plant actually does, not a catalogue promise.
How to plant and care for it
Plant in gritty compost with at least 50% drainage material. Full sun, and the more direct light the more intense the flower colour. Water deeply then allow to dry out fully; cut back hard in winter. Feed a low-nitrogen, high-phosphorus fertiliser through summer to push flowering rather than foliage. Prune after flowering to build a branching, tree-like shape.
