Description

A living Adenium obesum, already past the fragile seedling stage, with the thick base and glossy leaves that make the species look like a small bonsai tree. In summer it produces trumpet flowers in waves, each flush lasting two to three weeks.

Why grow Desert Rose Live Plant

Seedlings are cheap but slow and unpredictable. A plant at this stage has already survived the risky first year, has an established caudex, and will usually flower within the first season in your care. It is the sensible way to start with desert rose if you want results rather than a project.

How to plant and care for it

Bright light is non-negotiable — a south-facing window or a sunny balcony. Use a cactus mix with extra grit, water thoroughly and then wait until the soil is dry right through. Reduce to a sip every three or four weeks in winter, when the plant drops some leaves; that is normal, not a problem. Repot in spring every other year.
