Sculptural Desert Rose – Live Adenium with Thick Caudex
$17.60 – $52.80
A live Adenium with a naturally swollen caudex that reads like living sculpture. Vivid blooms sit above the twisted base, giving collectors a centerpiece that looks striking well before the flowers open and stays compact in a pot.

The caudex is the reason people grow adenium. This specimen has a genuinely thick, twisted base — not a thin seedling stem — with the peeling bark and irregular swellings that take years to develop and cannot be faked. Flowers are almost a bonus.
Why grow Sculptural Desert Rose
Most desert roses on the market are chosen for flower colour. This one is chosen for form. If you want a plant that reads as sculpture on a shelf even when it is not in bloom, the caudex is what matters, and good caudexes are slow to produce and hard to find.
How to plant and care for it
Plant high — set the caudex so a good third sits above the compost, which shows off the shape and prevents rot. Gritty mix, full sun, water when dry. Rotate the pot monthly so the caudex develops evenly rather than leaning to the light. In winter, keep it dry and above 10 °C; some leaf drop is expected.
