Why grow Premium Amaryllis Bulbs
Amaryllis bulb size is the single best predictor of what you will get. A 24 cm bulb gives one modest stem; a 30/32 cm bulb gives two or three stems, more flowers per stem, and the reserves to rebloom the following year. The difference in price is small; the difference in the display is not.
How to plant and care for it
Pot so the top third of the bulb stays above soil, in a container just a couple of centimetres wider than the bulb itself. Water once at planting, then hold off until green shows. Full light and a steady 18–22 °C will bring it into flower in six to eight weeks. Keep feeding after flowering and let the leaves grow on until autumn — the bulb is rebuilding itself for next season.
